Imagine you reach 5diamond via this improbable sequence.

You ruff the spade lead and run the ten of diamonds. That loses to the king and North punches you again with another spade. You ruff in hand, and instead of playing another trump, you play safely by continuing clubs. When eventually they ruff in, you ruff a third spade (high) and draw all the trumps with dummy's diamondAJ. There is still heartA to enter hand to enjoy the remaining winners.

Oh yes, at the other table someone passed a forcing sequence and the final contract was 3club - so there was indeed a swing!
