What is East up to? Why has he underled his top diamonds on the third round, forcing his partner to ruff? There can be only one answer. He's attempting to weaken dummy's trump suit so that his own trumps are promoted. In this case you must decline the overruff and throw your heart loser - one which would probably have been lost anyway - and certainly on this distribution. You win the club return, cross to heartK and pick up the trumps with the finesse. There still remains spadeJ in dummy to take care of heart7 - ten tricks. This neat littlle loser on loser play could easily be overlooked by an unwary declarer... But I wonder what would have happened if West started with spadeK4?
