The trouble with bidding is that is so much more contentious than the play of the cards. If you have discerned on these pages an occasional moment of prevarication and some more frequent fence-sitting than you'd be absolutely right! Almost every bridge player and his dog have different ideas about bidding, and I would not appear to want to lay the law down. However on this hand I would imagine that 4spade (I can play the cards well, no wasted values in RHO's suit), 3heart (can you help with this suit, partner?) and perhaps even Double (as a game try) might attract votes.

Anyway, how do you play on diamondAK4 from East?
