Problem 2. A straightforward lead problem, except that finding the lead proved anything but. South's warped (and to one commentator afterwards, disgusting) 1NT brought home the bacon when West led a small club. Well, should he have found the diamond? Attacking leads are universally recommended against small slams, but I think this one is not easy. On any other lead the fortunate spade situation meant that thirteen tricks were routine.
