West opened a bog standard 12-14 1NT and East bid 2spade as transfer to clubs. Despite his somewhat exposed position South was there with 3spade and North raised very sensibly to game. On clubA lead South ruffed, crossed to spadeA, returned to heartK and played trumps from the top. With only a 4-1 spade break to worry about there were no complications in the play and South made ten tricks for +420.

North-South in the closed room did have a good excuse, didn't they? It was a high quality fix.
