I suppose game was still a vague possibility after East's show of strength, but South decided to be realistic and limit his activity. Was it better to shut out West with 3spade immediately, or have to make the same bid when the probable 3diamond came around?

Anyway, South bid 3spade, everyone passed, and East led a trump. How would you play from the North hand?
