. . . what if you wanted all thirteen tricks? Some of us have been in worse grand slams than this and the winning line, although not immediately obvious, may fall into declarer's lap. Winning with clubA West plays diamondA, ruff a diamond, and runs all his trumps. This makes the contract when the spades break kindly or, as in this case, when a defender holds all the side suit goodies. North is subjected to a progressive squeeze. East-West +1510.

Of course, ducking at trick one and proceeding on similar lines also produces a similar squeeze for just the twelve tricks.
