Annie switched to diamonds at trick two, leading the king from dummy. East won the ace and exited with another diamond to the queen in hand. Annie decided that the bad trump split meant that spades were more likely to break favourably, so she confidently cashed the king and ace of spades and when the queen appeared a small spade was ruffed in hand. That left South the easy job of drawing all the remaining trumps and cashing her spade winners. + 920.
