# What!!!???

Normally you would expect to duck in this type of situation, but look what happens if you do. Declarer plays another diamond in the hope of a two-two break, so you win and force again with a low spade, removing declarer's last trump. Knowing that a diamond play is futile, he will turn his attention to trying for three club tricks, and you can see what will happen. No, it's best to win diamondA and force straight away. Declarer will ruff, and hopefully choose to play a diamond. When South shows out, he will be a very sad man, for it will too late for the club finesse, and that will be one off.
In the other room South led his singleton and North won, continuing with diamondJ to signal for a spade return. South duly complied, but declarer ruffed and took the rest of the tricks for an overtrick. Anyone for 5diamond?
