Let's say that you win the opening lead in dummy and lead a heart to open the channels of communication. North rises with heartA and plays another spade which you ruff. It looks relatively plain sailing now but whatever declarer does North has the answer. The unfavourable splits of the heart and minor suits combine to put declarer one down.
