The sequence on the previous page occurred at one table, but not at the one where Zia was sitting South. Mr. Mahmood was there with a double on the second round! This was a head-on-the-chopping-block bid, particularly at the vulnerability, but gave Zia's partner Andrew Robson the option to pass this out and place heartK on the table. Declarer Bob Hamman won and immediately played spade7 to North's spade9 and dummy's spadeK.
