Whether you should show some extra beef by bidding 3heart or 4heart to show strong spade support is a moot point, but playing in an unfamiliar partnership our adopted West bid a straightforward 4spade on the basis that a known eight-card fit with good controls would still require a extra values opposite and/or a favourable lay of the cards for a slam. East could not pass quickly enough and North led heartK.
