My "permanent" opponent for the 30 boards was Eric, and apart from one minor accident when heartA was inadvertently masquerading in Eric's hand as a diamond, I can report that he was virtually faultless. It was not difficult to see why this popular stalwart of Yorkshire bridge continues to appear regularly in the winners' column.
