# Not Stayman, weak with clubs!

Knowing that the hearts are 3-2 from the bidding (East can't have four or one!), you can afford to lose two heart tricks but it is important to do so when you still retain plenty of trump control to cope with potential club forces. The heartQ wins in dummy and you play spadeA, finesse spadeJ and exit with a small heart from hand. West wins with heartA and switches back to clubs. You ruff in dummy, draw the last trump and enjoy the heart winners using diamondA as the entry. +450. Even if you misjudge the heart situation and lose two tricks in that suit, you can still get home as long as you don't draw three rounds of trumps originally.

Of course, if you were also a fine judge of bidding you would have passed 3club doubled. +500!
