If you chose to continue a heart that would have been an excellent choice, for partner can win and play another. Assuming that you cooperate by ruffing with spadeQ, it will be enough to defeat the contract, for partner is also guaranteed a further trump trick.

Although 3diamond would not be a bad choice - in that it will not lead to minus 800, partner would be hard pressed to avoid the diamond lead.
