Hamman passed quietly and when his partner opened 1heart he made no move whatsoever towards a slam, subsiding in 4spade. When you see the West cards you could say that he was fully justified.

Not only did Martens open with 1spade he followed with two cue-bids!! This led to a horrible slam, but I wonder if Martens was able to bring it home?
