Declarer won the opening lead and immediately led a low spade (!?). South won and returned another, so declarer hopped up with the ace dropping North's king. She now continued with spadeQ (!), ruffed by North who switched to clubK. West seemed untroubled by the various alternatives and proceeded to play a diamond to the ace! She eventually made eleven tricks.

"You weren't tempted to try a finesse then?" I asked.

"Finesse? What finesse?"
