Anthony Golding pointed out that there was a better line than winning the diamond lead, ruffing a diamond and running trumps. In fact, on the diamond lead 7spade is cold if the trumps are two-two. Declarer wins diamondA and draws two rounds of trumps. If they break, then even if the clubs are five-nil they can always be brought in for at least four tricks by a straightforward finesse or a ruffing finesse. The difference is that there is still a late entry to the established winners via a diamond ruff. Well spotted Anthony!
