Messrs Forrester and Brock were defending 4spade against the Polish pair of Klukowski and Moszczynski. The boy Forrester done tremendous (with apologies to Mick Channon) by finding the only card that would guarantee, from his perspective, defeating the contract - heartK!! This Merrimac coup cut off dummy's late entry before trumps were drawn and rendering the potential club winners sterile. 4spade minus one. Note that even if declarer's trumps had been spadeAKQJxx this defence would have been good enough.
