Having drummed into my class the positive merits of playing in 3NT (only nine tricks, less complex play etc), it was very difficult to stop North bidding No Trumps. No, I had to persuade her of the merits of supporting diamonds, although experienced players would prefer 2heart or 2spade en route to 5diamond or perhaps 3NT at pairs scoring.

Having steered her partner into a contract of 5diamond, how would you recommend that he play it on spadeK lead?
