Don't bid poor suits on good hands is a well recognised doctrine, but South decided that the final contract would be 3NT and the best way of encouraging a club lead would be to avoid bidding them. After that it was downhill all the way as North could not be restrained.

East doubled the final contract but West led a heart which whistled around to South's eight.
