At the other table East opened 1heart and South lost no time with a weak jump to 2spade. West showed his diamonds and North jumped pre-emptively to 4spade. Whether East-West were making their bid for the annual WCBA "Be kind to the Oppo" prize or whether they just forgot to double, we'll never know, but the net outcome was that 4spade went a quiet two off, -100, to go with their team-mates' +660.
