If partner has a brain and is sane, the crucial card is heart10 - this suit preference signal must surely show a high club honour, so if you're really brave close your eyes and ditch clubs.

However, for the sake of argument, say that you decide to throw a small spade - as happened at the table. Declarer ducks, but finally wins partner's fourth heart, the jack, as you throw another spade. Your worst fears are realised when declarer now cashes three spade tricks as partner throws a heart winner. He must therefore be under pressure in the minors too!

What do you discard (again) - there is plenty of scope for cocking this one up ... another spade is coming!
