This is a very common cause of bad scores with beginners. South should Pass without any worries about missing game. If ten tricks in hearts are made with this South hand after this auction then it will almost certainly be because of a very favourable lay of the cards, or on crass defence. 3NT is the only possibility of a game, but the most likely result is -50 whatever the denomination. Just Pass on these hands. Trust me.
