Pass Pass Pass
This was the position with each side having taken two tricks.
clubK was cashed, and declarer was now able to finesse against East's clubQ and finish the clubs. By now, West had realised that he been duped and, under pressure in three suits, he discarded two winning hearts and two more spades. To prevent South taking three immediate diamond tricks, both defenders had been forced to retain all their diamonds, so declarer finessed Qdiamond and exited with the Jspade from dummy. East was able to win spadeQ, cash the 8spade but was then forced to lead a diamond, allowing South to play diamond9 to win the last 2 tricks. N-S +150.
