At teams scoring, players often stretch to thin vulnerable game contracts but English international North passed unhesitatingly, judging that there was little chance of game with his flat hand.

Inexperienced players often have difficulty passing on this sequence, and I recommend that you only raise on balanced hands of 17 points or more, unless your partner is a very good player or your opposition are very poor.
