At the table where CJ was at the helm the bidding went as shown. East passed (!!) , CJ opened a heart and BPC splintered with 4club. CJ quietly signed off in 4heart but West led diamondA as before and you can guess the rest.

CJ had even less chance of getting it right - he knew nothing of East's seven card club suit or possible singleton spade. Maybe CJ could have thrown diamondQ at trick one in an attempt to fool West? We'll never know.
