South, who knew the opponents well, showed magnificent table presence by running the opening lead to his ten!!! Quick as a flash the spadeQ was on the table and before he realised what he had done, West had covered!! 13 tricks and a partially salvaged score, beating all the 1460s, if not the grand slammers. I suppose that you might have suggested the boring line - that of winning at trick one and praying for the heart10 to come down in two rounds.

North wryly observed that South had thirteen top tricks and took two finesses! A sort of double Grosvenor coup .... with a difference.
