The two pairs who contested this deal eventually finished first and second respectively, Hiron and Dormer of Great Britain as North-South and Kaiser and Kokkes of Holland as East-West. Dormer and Hiron were playing together for the first time in 27 years and had sensibly decided to make their system extremely simple. 2heart was showed 8+ tricks and 2spade was negative.
