Imagine first that the contract is 5club doubled after this revoltingly undisciplined sequence. North cashes spadeAK and switches to a heart. South wins and continues with the heartKQ. West ruffs, North over-ruffs and continues with spadeQ. Declarer now ruffs again in hand, and has to make the double dummy play of small to diamondJ to get out for four off! West cannot afford to draw trumps before the diamond is lost, and if the clubA is released too early, South eventually wins diamondK and leads another heart to promote yet another winner for North's trumps.
