Every other West had led an original diamond and obtained an immediate ruff. Furthermore, East was able to return a low diamond to ask for the continuation of a low ranking suit i.e. clubs. West duly obliged, and when South won in hand to lead a trump, West was able to fly in with the ace and give East a club ruff. A further diamond ruff gave East-West +200.
