After North-South reached game, West had an interesting lead problem. Most defenders don't like to look for ruffs when they hold good trumps, and he looked elsewhere for a likely lead candidate.

The bidding appeared to indicate that North felt his hand had improved with his partner's 3club bid. So, spurning the obvious lead of his singleton, West concluded that the opposition had a good club fit and therefore partner would be short. Accordingly, he decided to lead a club in the hope of eventually giving his partner a ruff. Do you agree with his choice?
