We have two hands today with a very similar theme, both originating from the early 1930s. Our first deal shows East-West being talked out of an excellent game. I cannot imagine any modern red-blooded West being intimidated by South's pre-empt, considering Pass to be the right action. West should surely double, showing "cards".
