There is no need to rise with clubQ, because by inserting the nine you get two bites at the cherry, winning two club tricks if South has either clubK and/or both clubJ10. As the cards lay North had to put up clubK, solving all problems. In fact South had been end-played at trick four - any return gives away a trick.
