Thinking that West must be marked with a bucket-load of hearts (he was right there!), East gave up over 4diamond. The club lead was won with clubQ and East returned club2 for a heart return. West duly obliged and 4diamond was one off when spadeA took the fourth defensive trick. Nevertheless +100 did not match the result at the other table and 12 IMP was the result.
