Win the club switch at trick two, ruff a diamond and play ace and queen of hearts. Win the club continuation with the king and ruff another diamond. Draw trumps and play the 8 from hand. Bingo!!! North has to play spades into
AKJ.
Gary:- North could kill any hope of game as the cards lie by leading a club at trick one. Now, even the double-dummy line (as explained by Pedro above) doesn't work, since only one diamond can be ruffed. North will have a diamond at the end for a safe exit and will collect two spades, a heart, and a diamond for down one.
