Declarer's hand must have been a shock to West, but how was he to know? South expected a diamond continuation or spade switch, and had hoped for another spade from East when won the first club finesse lost. When club7 unexpectedly held the fourth trick South continued with the ten. East's discard was a pleasant sight and declarer wrapped up eleven tricks via a slightly unexpected route.
