Having cocked up the club suit South should have made amends by flying in with spadeA and continuing with two more rounds of hearts. This promotes North's spadeQ for a very scary one off.

South would have been best advised to continue hearts at tricks three and four. West must lose three hearts, two trumps and a club, conceding 300 instead of gaining 530. South would have also ruefully noted that 3NT was cold.
