At the table declarer did very well when she drew just one trump and cashed three top hearts to dispose of a club loser. When North could not ruff the second heart the hand became clearer and declarer ruffed a fourth round of hearts with spade8 before leading a club. North won and cashed diamondK, but declarer was able to ruff the club continuation high in hand. With dummy's spadeJ9 sitting over South's spade107, declarer was able to arrive at ten tricks.

It was understandable why North had ducked at trick one, but had she overtaken and continued the suit East's contract would have been sunk.
