The original declarer had a real blind spot. Instead of rising with spadeA and playing on cross-ruff lines, North ducked, allowing the defence to get two rounds of trumps in. The club finesse was always likely to be right, but there were only nine tricks. East-West +100. Following the correct line North will reach a four card ending where he takes a third heart ruff in hand. East's trump strength means that he can only take two tricks.
