At the table declarer had an elegant recovery manoeuvre available. Winning North's clubQ with the ace, he simply drew another round of trumps and exited with his last heart. What could North do? To ruff South's heartQ would dispose of two of declarer's losers in one go, but to discard would leave South on lead and forced to concede a trick to spadeK.

Very simple but highly effective.
