You have no real idea of who might be short in spades but if East has a small singleton then you have no chance. Presumably the club honours are split because East would surely have led one when the club suit has not been mentioned in the auction. Because of West's raise you know that East must have five hearts at most, but also he must have some clubs - there are eleven missing and West did not open with a pre-empt. On balance it seems best to lead a low spade towards dummy in case East has a singleton honour .
