Simon made my life simple with a straightforward 5diamond. This was doubled on the way out but eleven tricks were trivial with heartK so conveniently placed.

Incidentally, what would you have bid on that South hand? Maybe a double would have been better, aiming to bid diamonds over any club response from North and thereby accurately painting the picture of a good, red suited hand with longer diamonds. As it happens eleven tricks can be made in hearts on a club lead, but only if declarer is careful enough to ruff the first club with heart9 or play specifically for a singleton king by lashing down heartA without crossing to dummy. The killing defence is a diamond lead. Declarer has to draw all the tumps to avoid the defensive ruff, but now he's wide open in clubs
