East's bidding was highly questionable and poor West had more of a problem as South's five card club suit remained hidden. After leading heartA he too failed to find the club switch and once more 4spade came in.

Worse was to come for the respective East-West pairs. It wasn't too long before they realised that 5diamond was cold. 5heart might be beaten but only after a diamond lead, club to South's honour and a diamond ruff .. better than letting 4spade through though!
