If you simply leap to 4spade, as North did at the table, then that's the end of it, but if you wheel out the pitiful crutch (as Reese called it) of fourth suit forcing then it might start to get interesting. Partner might leap to 3NT or possibly raise your 4SF bid of 2diamond to 3diamond. Either way a slam might be reached. Would you want to be in it?

In this case you do not have to worry about slam bonuses - all you have to do is play 4spade from the South hand on the lead of diamondJ.
