South cashed ace and another diamond to put East on lead with the king. East played heartK but South won with the ace and exited with another to put East back in again. South threw one club on East's spadeK and another on the enforced spade continuation. In all South made five trumps, two clubs, a diamond and two spades.

Superficially it looks better for East to unblock diamondK under South's ace, but it makes no difference. West could win with diamondJ but whatever her continuation South wins and plays ace and another trump as before.
