Last night's quarter final of our County cup competition contained many extraordinary deals. There were four slams (all successful) in the first eight boards and the last eight seemed dominated by a cascade of spades. This last set saw two six card spade suits, two seven carders and two of length eight - including one board when I played in a cold 6 and partner put down AKQ10xxxx. More of these tomorrow.
