As you can see, every line works. The spades break 4-3, playing the clubs from the top is OK and the double finesse works too. Not only that - East comes under irresistible pressure in the minor suits in the end game and his clubQ shows up at trick twelve, saving us the agonies of any finesse.

So what was my inferior line? Duck the opening lead. It misses out on some of the three-three club break variations and where also some where West has clubHxxx.
