It seemed madness to duck, particularly after West's false count in spades, but that's eaxctly what East did! Naturally declarer assumed that West had spadeA and played low from dummy. West won with spade9 and switched to diamonds, so South led a third spade from dummy - convinced that West had started with spadeA98. East won spadeJ and continued with spadeA so declarer had to lose a diamond in the end. 6club-2, and East-West a cold top.
