Despite knowing that North would have at most one spade, South led his singleton club - presumably he had assigned clubA to North on the basis of East's bidding. East won clubQ and led a diamond to the jack and ace, but instead of putting his partner in with heartK for a spade ruff, North continued clubs. Declarer won in dummy, pitched a heart and spade loser on two club winners, drew trumps and led a spade. South had to go in with spadeA to prevent that running away and East has escaped with minus 300. Who was South?
